Sometimes I Love the Perks.

The question I've been asked most lately, "Do you still perform stand-up?" and "Why don't you blog more?" Yes I still perform, not as often as before or as much as I would like to, but I'll be on the scene more as of now. Why don't I blog more - sometimes honest there isn't anything interesting enough, or something to get off my chest that won't get me on some Quebec government hit list. But for the past two nights I have had an amazing experience and I would like to tell you all about it. A big fund raising event took place last night here in Montreal, and I was asked to host the event and when asked I jumped all over the opportunity. It was called The All*Star Charity Event. The money raised from the event was being split between the Max Pacioretty Foundation and the Tretiak Foundation. Two hockey players one currently in the NHL, the other in the Hockey Hall of Fame. As a life long hockey fan, I love the sport more than any allegiance to one specific team, so to meet Mr. Tretiak was a thrill. He retired at the age of 32 but looks like he could still play and dominate the game. The night before the big event I was invited to a private dinner with Mr. Tretiak and he could not have been nicer. Other members of the current version of the Montreal Canadiens were there too last night at the big charity bash. Aside from Mr. Pacioretty, I was very excited to meet P.K. Subban. In my opinion he is one of the young stars of the NHL, although the current management doesn't seem to think the same way I do and his name has been mentioned in many a trade rumour - oh how the mighty have fallen (the Canadiens that is) I am writing about this not to brag, but to say that sometimes the perks of doing what I do really do pay off. Sure I've gone to some far away and messed up places and I've seen a lot of the world, but not having to get on a plane and be able to have so much fun for two great causes - I like that!
