Where Have You gone Joe Dimaggio?
Spoiler Alert - this blog includes more sports talk!
Yes it has been a while since I last posted an entry up here, sorry took a break for a few weeks in January. Speaking of which when did "Global Warming" become "Climate Change"? I'm all for saving the planet, but I am also for no snow, and not taking 15 minutes to get dressed in the dead of winter to exit my house. But when did the "problem" get a name change?!

Then there is the issue of our sports heroes getting caught using performance enhancing drugs, shooting up a locker room, or using their penis - a lot.
Let me start by saying McGuire - was he the only one to use steroids? No! Did he break records, that only a year or two later were broken by another player that was using steroids and is yet to admit it, yup! So what do we do. You can't ban these players from the game - they have pretty much all retired or are on a journey to find their now shrivelled up and disappearing testicles (look higher boys). Reset all the homerun records I say - as of today Roger Maris and his magical 61- still the record and Bonds, McGuire, Sosa et al have to live with the fact that they played all those years and used all for naught. And while we are at it Commish Selig - you are the biggest liar of them all, as if you didn't know this was going on - time for you to go and if you ever end up in the Hall of Fame that is when the game has really been tarnished!

Tiger Woods in sex rehab, can't wait for that episode of A&E's "Intervention". As if comedy doesn't write itself - he is set to be released from the "sex rehab center" on February 14th - Valentine's Day. Really setting him free on the day everyone wants some. Good luck Tiger.

But when I hear people call these people heroes - where have our heroes gone, they ask. News flash they are not heroes - they are athletes. So if you are a parent, a teacher etc and someone asks "Where have all the heroes gone?" You tell them - they are fighting for our country in Afghanistan, and helping with relief efforts in Haiti, they are called soldiers. Honorable men and women, risking their lives, trying to make a difference, trying to make the world a better place for all of us. It is because of them and what the veterans before them accomplished that our athletes have the freedom to do steroids and shag whoever, whenever they want.
Lest we forget!
