Who's a big boy?

For those of you who really know me, it is no secret I don't like flying, the only thing I dislike more is cats - more about those in a minute (for all you cat lovers I will offend you so you have been warned)
First let us talk flying. With all the flying I have done, and some crazy distances, Afghanistan, Europe - not too mention flying on transport planes into some of these war zones. I just don't like it and I, ever the optimist, feel that my odds are not getting better in my favor the more I fly. But there I was last week flying from Montreal to Vancouver for a one night gig, and was feeling good about myself as we landed. I didn't take any of the medication given to me by my doctor for when I fly to calm my nerves. I felt good about myself until I got off the plane to witness a mother and son reunion. See the boy was 5 or 6 years old and made the flight by himself - and was greeted by his mother's "Who's a big, brave boy?" I thought I was, but clearly the toddler on xanax wins.
As for cats - why? I do not have any, although 2 are currently "visiting" and it seems like they might never leave. I lived with someone that had 2 cats, and honestly, she probably cared more about them than she did about me. I don't know anyone that has purchased a cat, they all are strays that have been taken in. Now why are there so many stary cats? No one wants them that's why. How many homeless people do we walk by a day and never do we take them in, offer them food, shelter and a bath. Nope. So I say let's get our priorities straight people save a human, let the cats beg for money, or better yet let them earn their stay by fooling me on the street in three card monty. At least some of the homeless people are entertaining and never have they taken a crap in a box in the corner of my living room.
