Random Thoughts for a Tuesday in August

Yesterday I have the pleasure of participating in the 1rst annual "Marc's All Star Team Golf Tournament". $55 000 was raised by the generosity of golfers and sponsors with the proceeds going to the Oncology Department of the Montreal children's Hospital. The whole day was put together by Marc, a 15 year old boy that has fought cancer twice, and his family. I am lucky to play in lots of golf tournaments, but I must say this was an amazing day, for an incredible cause, hosted by a special family. Thank you Normandin Family for your invite and count me in for next year.
Speaking of next year - maybe the Mayans were right. I can't remember weather like this - humidity, thunderstorms, wind gusts, tornadoes and that's only in and around Montreal. I thought the Mayan calendar ended in 2012 because they ran out of hot, attractive Mayan women for the calendar. Whether they are correct or not, with this kind of weather I have started stockpiling canned goods and toilet paper - I'll need it after all the peas, peaches and corn I have begun to save.
I know that as a comedian, maybe my blog posts should be funnier - but I rather tell everyone about good people, great events for special causes. Truth is I would like nothing better to take a shred out of a few members of the media for tearing into a Canadian Soldier for a specific incident - truth is because I work with a couple of these people at the radio station, I choose not to go into detail - maybe I am maturing, watching what I say, it took 38 years but I may have grown up alittle bit. What I can say - listen up radio people who think that there feces doesn't stink - put yourself in soldier's boots for five minutes. I am willing to bet that after you finish crying, soiling yourselves and calling for your Moomy - you would do the exact thing that brave soldier did. Needless to say if I am not on radio next week, assume they read this and the powers that be agreed with them, time will tell.
