Fleetwood Mac said it best...
So Fleetwood Mac once said, "It was early morning yesterday, I was up before the dawn." That was me yesterday morning. After finishing the radio show on CJAD at midnight, I ran home to try and get some sleep, if 3 hours counts as sleep then mission accomplished. Upon waking up, and swearing for about a good five minutes, off to CHOM I went to fill in for Ted Bird, away on vacation. So I sat in with Rob Kemp and Merv. Rob's a great guy - funny and just one of those guys you realy want as a friend. We spoke to Rick Mercer, I really do believe he should be the next Governor General of this country - why not? He's smart, funny and works at the CBC - all points needed to get the job are there. (see Adrian Clarkson and M. Jean) So as early as it was, I had a great time so thank you Mr. Kemp, Merv and all the listeners that emailed me saying how much they enjoyed my guest appearance yesterday.
We also spoke to Pierre Houde of RDS - I never met him before or spoke to him but he really knows his hockey, and his passion for the game comes through when he does the play by play on RDS. He also seems to be the only sane person left in this city that belongs to the French sport's media.
I know again with the hockey talk Joey?
Yup, I love the sport and I love the Habs. So when a coach in this city gets fired, why is that an invitation to start the language issue all over again. For the first time in my life as much as I love Montreal, I feel like moving away just to get this bullshit issue out of my head. Coach gets fired, new assistant coach doesn't speak french and all of a sudden it's - "Coach of the Canadiens much be french" blah blah blah. If they really wanted to win the Stanley Cup, it should not matter what language the coach speaks as long as he speaks winning hockey - point finale.
And one last thing, why do they piss on Saku Koivu all the time? Is it because the captain of the most storied franchise isn't from Canada, or Quebec? Here is a guy that gives his all everyday, everygame. He has been through hell, and has embraced the city and the community - why? I ask do these people (you know who you are - 110% and Anti-Chambre people) not embrace him. I guess you only see talent when they share the same mother tongue as you.
Newsflash it's 2009, time for the old world mentality to go away and embrace the new: we are one world mentality.
Keep laughing
