So for the past few years - I have put my name as the host of a golf tournament that benefits the Montreal Children's Hospital - specifically the Diabetes & Insulin Pump Clinic. This year it will be taking place Monday August 3/09 at our original home the Ile Perrot Golf Club. The committee is already hard at work (they are the ones that really make it all happen and come together - I just have my name and face on it) And even though the economic situation in North America and the planet really is not as good as it was last year, we are all optimistic that this year's tourny will be better than last. But wait there's more!
For the first time ever we are also planning a comedy gala that will take place at Club Soda in Montreal. Sunday April 26 730pm the show will go on. CHOM's Rob Kemp along with CJAD's Andrew Carter will co-host the event and the first half will have some great local talent then I myself will do an hour - all being filmed for my first DVD that will then be sold after shows and through this very website - with a portion of all sales from each DVD going towards the same charity as mentioned earlier.
I have been a Type 2 diabetic for almost three years now - only admitted it publicly for a year - so it is important to me that we help fund research as much as we can - a cure is what we all want. Especially for children - they deserve to live a long, fun filled life - a life that a non-diabetic child would live. It is our motto "MAKE LIFE SWEET!"
