I'm inspired by Blind River!

So the last few weeks have been quite busy; Hubcap Comedy Festival in Moncton, then home to Montreal for a few days before flying off to Geneva, Switzerland for a corporate show then returning to Canada to perform at one of my all time favorite places - Ugi's in Sudbury Ontario. Moncton was great, lots of fun and the shows and people were amazing. Switzerland is beautiful, clean and the show was a lot of fun. But Sudbury is home away from home for me. People always laugh when I tell them I love going there, but unless you have been, don't diss it. The people are friendly, there is lots to do - although my first day there I slept off the jet lag. But more importantly I get treated like royalty by the staff and patrons of the shows. Ugi's has great pizzas, awesome wings, and a staff that always treats you well. The patrons all just want to have a good time. A lot of familiar faces were in the crowd - people I have seen there at previous shows but there were five new faces; young faces that really moved me.
Blind River is a small town a few hours north of Sudbury, on the way to Sault Ste. Marie, but 5 high school kids got one of their father's to drive them down to see the show. They had seen me on TV, and when they heard I was in the neighborhood, they planned the outing. I spoke to them after the show, signed some autographs and took some pictures with them. But what really impressed me is their love for comedy. They all love it, and want to start a club at their school. I can assure you all, one day in the future we will be reading about 1 or more Canadian comedians that all hail from the small town of Blind River. At a time when I was tired; physically and mentally from the biz, these fresh faces inspired me to be even better and try harder. So I thank you Sudbury and Ugi's; but I am forever grateful to the teenaged crew from a small northern town.
