Back from Afghanistan

Yes it has been a while since I blogged, but I have been overseas in Afghanistan entertaining the brave men and women that serve in the Canadian Forces.
This was my second time there, the first being 3 years ago, and a lot has changed. The first thing I saw was a cairn (memorial) for fallen soldiers. When I was there last there were 4 plaques, now over 50, (more names will be added soon). It is a humbling experience seeing first hand the work that goes on there. The people they are helping reclaim what rightfully belongs to them. The hospital in which, soldiers and Afghani locals are treated and get equal treatment and care.
I was blogging for the Montreal Gazette while there, but there are a few people that must be mentioned again, my apologies to those who may have read the other blogs.
A little Afghani girl that I saw while touring the hospital. So young and already a life filled with bad memories. With her leg amputated, she smiled when she us. I will never forget that smile, especially when things are going not as well as I want them too, I will remember things could be worse, so smile.
To all the soldiers that shared their stories of their loved ones back home, the friends they have lost while serving over there and for their bravery. I will never forget the hospitality you showed us while visiting.
And so I don't make this too long, to all my fellow show tour mates; JP and Hilda Cormier, The Fables, Karla Pilgrim, Bobo, Yosh, Jim, Celine, Shelley. You made the trip even more memorable.
Special thanks to STEVE AMOS - you made the crazy days over there more sane. Your friendship is much appreciated and will never be forgotten - you are my brother.
