Sudbury - Leafs nation and the HIP!

As many of you know, I go to Sudbury a few times a year. I always get asked "why Sudbury?". The nicest people live there, everyone is friendly and easy going. So here I am in a snow filled, freezing cold city surrounded by what I think are my friends. So I was lucky enough on Saturday afternoon to go to the Tragically Hip's sound check for their show that night, much thanks Mr. Garner - great hat!! So cool. Ahead By a Century, Yer Not the Ocean and Sudbury Saturday Night amonst others, just them me and 30 other people watching awesome. If you don't have the new album "World Container" get it. Get the DVD of "That Night in Toronto" actually get them all. So the day is going well.
Then I make a bet with Walter aka The Night Owl, my beloved Habs are playing the Deadbeat Leafs and I say if the Leafs win I will wear a Leaf jersey on stage that night. Needless to say after a 4-1 loss by the Habs, there I was center stage wearing a vintage Clark #17 Leafs jersey. I am writing this while bathing in a vat of Listerine, I must be disinfected.
All in all another great weekend up in the Big Nickel. I am blessed to call many people up there true friends, and we have a hard go at it lately in our small northern family. Leaf jersey or not I love you Walter - get well quick!
