It maybe the heat or the humidity or just the fact that as I age, I will have more things that aggravate me. I never thought that I disliked so many things or that so many little things get to me. So I now share these newest items to get my goat, after all why should I suffer alone, and people say I'm selfish. Here goes,
#1. Vanilla has recently been voted the favorite flavor of ice cream in North America. How boring, no wonder we need crap like "Fear Factor" and "Survivor" to spice up our lives. Just a question, has the majority of this continent never heard of Ben and/or Jerry? A life without Chunky Monkey just isn't worth living.
#2. Why do American sportscasters still say ICE hockey. Hockey is played on ice, it is a given. The only time they should mention what type of hockey it is, is when it isn't being played on ice, hence: street hockey, ball hockey or field hockey. You never hear Candian sportscasters refer to NFL participants playing TACKLE football.
#3. I recently saw a commercial on TV advertising "holeless" bagels. As far as I'm concerned, a bagel without a hole, no matter what shape it is in is BREAD. Also saw an ad in a store's flier for sleveless shirts, back in the day these items of clothing were known as VESTS.What's going on, are we eliminating words from our vocabulary? I don't blame weed, video games or the net for our school's diminishing grades, I blame WEBSTERS. Maybe they eliminated the word chocolate or neapolitan therefore vanilla being the number one flavor of ice cream.
#4. People who think the movie "The Natural" is a love story. WRONG!!! It is a baseball movie with a love story as a sub-plot. Titanic is a love story that takes place on a ship that sinks. The Notebook is a love story that at times takes place on a boat that I wished would sink.
